Yoga does not transform the way we see things. It transforms the person who sees.

About

Emily Rich Camras RYT-200 has been happily practicing yoga for nearly 20 years, and is currently enrolled in the YogaWorks 300-Hour Professional Program with mentor Lainie Devina. Emily hopes to inspire her students to practice living in the moment, experience profound joy and improve the quality of their lives — both on and off the mat. She creates a classroom environment where students feel safe, cared for and challenged, yet ever confident in their abilities. In her Jewish-themed yoga classes, Emily blends Jewish teachings into an all-levels, nurturing class, encouraging her students to gain strength, spirituality and physical awareness by connecting yoga and Judaism.

Anybody can breathe. Therefore, anyone can practice yoga.

I offer Rosh Chodesh Yoga as an alternative way for Jewish women to celebrate and experience the forgotten holiday of Rosh Chodesh. By combining asana with Jewish teachings that convey the energy and focus of each month, we can bridge the mind-body-soul connection and enhance our lives. Through focused physical movement, we pray with our bodies, making a moving meditation. Both yoga and Judaism ask us to better ourselves and improve the world around us. Both approaches, informed by thousands of years of wisdom of great sages, add their unique strengths to the challenges of life.
